All reports, regardless of sponsor, use Chilmark’s proven methodology of primary and secondary research and analysis.

Available Reports:

HIE Market Report: Trends and Analysis 2012
Date of Publication: February 2012
Cost: $2,995. (enterprise license)

Abstract:
The HIE market in the US is heating up as over $560M dollars of federal stimulus funding flows into the market for creating statewide HIEs.  An even larger market is developing in the private market for “Enterprise” exchanges that are being created by larger Health Care Organizations in response to the passage of recent healthcare reform legislation that will result in new, bundled payment models. These enterprise seek to establish tighter relationships with their affiliated practices to drive new business, improve quality and efficiency of care delivery in preparation of payment reform.

While these activities create a robust market for HIE vendors, it has also created significant confusion. Numerous vendors are now positioning themselves as HIE vendors, but very few have all the features and functions that a robust HIE will require. How does one choose from the multitude of vendors now competing in the HIE market?  Who are the true leaders and what capabilities do they bring to market? Which vendors are bringing unique capabilities that can future proof a buying decision today?  How has the recent wave of acquisitions affected the market and what might it mean longer-term to vendor viability?

Chilmark’s HIE Market Report will answer these questions and numerous others. The result of extensive primary and secondary research, including interviews with all leading HIE vendors and numerous end users, this report provides a clear classification of the HIE market with extensive profiles of over 20 vendors who currently offer an HIE solution. The report will also look to the future as to how this market will grow and evolve over the next several years as meaningful use requirements take hold, healthcare reform brings forth changes in payment models, access to health data moves to mobile platforms and the consumer takes on a larger role.

Table of Contents & List of Figures: Stay Tuned

Enterprise Adoption of mHealth Apps: Trends, Opportunities & Challenges
Date of Publication: November 2010
Cost: $895.

Abstract:
While consumer adoption of mHealth Apps on their smartphones has received much fanfare, physicians have been leading the way in mobility for years. With new breakthroughs in usability (e/g/. touchscreen tablets such as the iPad) and a working model for App deployment, these physicians are now clamoring for mobile solutions that will connect them to a healthcare enterprise’s health information system (HIS). Healthcare enterprise executives also see such capabilities facilitating their efforts to improve quality of care delivered and workforce efficiencies.

For this 25 page report Chilmark Research conducted interviews with a number of leading mHealth adopters, major HIS vendors, best-of-breed vendors, tech entrants, and consultants. Primary research was coupled with extensive secondary research to create a composite view on how this market will develop.  In addition to providing forecasted growth rates, the report also looks at some of the challenges that will be faced by those seeking to adopt and deploy such solutions within their enterprise.  Such topics as privacy and security, mobile device management, regulation and compliance, and meaningful use are just some of the topics covered in this comprehensive look at a rapidly changing market.

Date of Publication: December 2010
